Pirate Ship Cake

Pirate Ship Cake, originally uploaded by bakers-cakes.

Arrrr Matey! A Buttermilk Vanilla Cake with Vanilla Buttercream Frosting, topped with Light Chocolate Rolled Fondant! The details are sculpted out of Sugar Paste. This cake was actually won at a raffle at my daughter's school! The winner of this Baker's Cakes Cake got their very own custom designed cake! Within days, maybe even moments of winning this cake, I received a phone call booking this pirate cake! This cake was so much fun to make! My personal favorite detail... the pirate's tattoo! I hope this cake brings lots of joy and treasure to the Birthday Boy and his family (and no scurvy or mutiny)!

  2. Thanks Jenny! I think I know my limits and liabilities better now!!! I wish I could have done the masts and sails in sugar paste, but it wasn't going to happen! I also found a couple pirate ship cakes online and used them for ideas, it helps me when I don't have to "reinvent the wheel."
