Pink, Stripes, Dots, and Flowers Topsy Turvy Cake!

It's a busy busy week! I got to create one of my favorite cakes: the Topsy Turvy Cake! The directives on this cake were: pink, purple, green, stripes, dots, and flowers! Recently my customers have been amazing with their orders, specific enough that I understand what they want, but general enough to leave ample room for creative and artistic freedom! This is why I love making cakes for people!!! (A little shout out here to Pink Cake Box for the inspiration for this cake. Their cakes are amazing!) I still have LOTS of work to do in the kitchen this week on some orders that take me to entirely new places in cake!!!

  3. Thanks ladies! This is the first time I tried something a little different with the topsy turvy. I usually angle the top cake and the bottom cake, then I place the top cake on the bottom on an angle. This time I actually carved out a little spot in the bottom cake for the top cake to sit in! It made it more stable (hooray!) and gave the top cake a better angle! This was a good cake to experiment with b/c it was small, three 8" layers on the bottom and two 6" layers on the top.
